WANT TO BE A DIRECTOR??

  The YTC is always accepting Directing Proposals for the upcoming Theatrical Season! If you are interested in directing or producing a show or event in the upcoming year, this is your opportunity to get the ball rolling! The YTC is looking for a variety of different ideas from the community, including submissions to direct musicals, full length plays, touring plays, concerts, fundraisers, and any other new and innovative idea focusing on performance arts. 

The first step is to write a brief proposal to submit to the Board!

Here's what your proposal should include:
  • A brief introduction including your name, the title of the proposed project, the submission date,.
  • A section pertaining to the entire Production Team (which must include a Director, Producer, Stage Manager, and Musical Director if the production contains substantial music)
  • A section pertaining to Casting, how the show will be cast, and who/how many people will be eligible to participate. 
  • A section pertaining to the purchase of the Production Rights to any scripts or music. IF you don't know, please indicate that you were unable to find this information and the Board can help you out.
  • A section pertaining to the general “idea” of the show, a plot synopsis, an overview of what the audience will be witnessing.
  • A section pertaining to the directorial concept, how you as the director would like to make this show stand out, what specific artistic ideas do you have to the show, what will the overall goal be artistically.
  • A section pertaining to an estimated budget, including estimated costs, and estimated income.
  • A section including a complete production schedule, so we can look at when the show would take place. 
  • A section pertaining to your directorial, and performance experience.
